Look, I'm not gonna feed you some perfect origin story. Truth is, I was a mess back in 2015. Fresh outta university, desk job killing my soul, and I'd gotten soft - like really soft. Hit rock bottom when I couldn't even do five proper pushups at my cousin's CrossFit box.
That embarrassment? It lit something up inside me. Started training obsessively - boxing gyms, powerlifting clubs, martial arts dojos, anywhere that'd let me through the door. Spent years just absorbing everything, learning from whoever would teach me.
By 2019, I'd transformed not just my body but my entire mindset. Friends kept asking me to train 'em, and honestly, watching people discover their own strength became more addictive than any workout I'd ever done.
Every warrior's path has its defining moments
Hit my lowest point physically and mentally. Decided enough was enough - started training at every gym that'd take me. No plan, just pure determination to change.
Got my first coaching certifications - Olympic lifting, MMA basics, nutrition. Started blending everything I learned into something that actually worked. Friends became guinea pigs for my programs.
Pandemic hit, but it gave me time to plan. Saved every dollar from online training sessions. Drew up blueprints for a facility that'd combine everything I loved - combat, strength, community.
Found the perfect spot on Granville Street. Lumareth Stormborn opened its doors with 12 founding members. Named it after a fantasy character that represented strength and resilience - yeah, I'm a nerd too.
We're 200+ members strong now. Expanded the space, brought on amazing coaches who share the vision. Every day I watch people transform just like I did - that's what keeps me going.
